France’s second largest telco in terms of subscribers SFR has launched ‘Red’ branded quad-play services, ahead of rival France Telecom-Orange’s (FT-Orange’s) ‘Sosh’ quad-play bundle, planned for 13 June 2013. The Red quad-play service offers three mobile plans – Red 2H+SMS, Red 24h/24, Red 3Go – in addition to ‘La Box de SFR’, which includes ADSL broadband with download speeds of up to 25Mbps, ‘classic’ TV (170 channels, Video-on-Demand [VoD], games and TV on demand) and unlimited calls to landlines in over 100 destinations. In comparison, FT-Orange’s Sosh consists of four mobile plans in addition to ADSL broadband with downlink of 20Mbps, ‘classic’ TV with 156 channels and unlimited fixed line calls to over 100 destinations. SFR’s Red services range from EUR34.98 (USD46.42) to EUR49.98 per month, while FT-Orange has announced Sosh price plans ranging from EUR34.90 to EUR54.90.
