US-based provider of network and IT solutions Alepo has announced the deployment of its software solutions supporting converged services on the network of Zimbabwean ISP Dandemutande (Utande/uMAX), including converged WiMAX, Intranet and Wi-Fi services for residential and corporate customers. Alepo deployed its AAA Server, Policy Manager and Service Enabler (SE) solutions to facilitate real-time policy control, remote configuration and remote monitoring of Wi-Fi hotspots.

According to TeleGeography’s GlobalComms Database, Dandemutande Investments’ subsidiary Utande launched its WiMAX wireless broadband service in the capital Harare under the uMAX brand in June 2012 via a capital investment of over USD17 million.
