TigoBusiness selects Alvarion's carrier-grade Wi-Fi solution

6 Jun 2013

TigoBusiness Nicaragua, the corporate ISP formerly known as Amnet, has tapped Israeli technology vendor Alvarion to deploy its carrier-grade Wi-Fi solution throughout the country. It will be used to complement the firm’s fixed network solutions as TigoBusiness targets universities and schools, retail stores, government entities, distribution centres and industrial plants. The company, a unit of Millicom International Cellular (MIC), also plans to deploy so-called ‘Metro Hot Zones’, which it describes as public Wi-Fi access points designed for crowded locations.
