Mobile operator Orange Armenia has increased its maximum upload speed for mobile internet services to 5.76Mbps from the previous peak of 2Mbps, according to a company press release. The upgrade is available in a number of areas across the country – Yerevan, Giumry, Vanadzor and Echmiadzin – and can be activated by subscribers there for a charge of AMD2,000 (USD4.79).

Orange Armenia, wholly owned subsidiary of France Telecom-Orange (FT-Orange), launched its mobile voice and internet services in the country on 5 November 2009, and today provides 95% coverage throughout 600 communities nationwide.
