MTel picks Verimatrix’ video content system to support OTT/VoD development

6 Jun 2013

Hungary’s largest telecoms carrier by subscribers and revenue, Deutsche Telekom-backed Magyar Telekom (MTel), has selected Verimatrix to supply it with its proprietary Video Content Authority System (VCAS) IPTV platform to give it enhanced revenue security for its new over-the-top (OTT), video on demand (VoD) service. The deployment will allow MTel to expand its existing DTH satellite TV portfolio to include the option of interactive services for connected devices. The vendor’s pay-OTT offer is, it says, available over multiple screens, such as PCs, Macs, iPhones, iPads, Smart TVs and Android-based phones and tablets. Huawei Technologies of China served as the systems integrator for the project.
