Alpha Telecom linked with Ericsson rollout deal

According to an unconfirmed report by Les Afriques, market newcomer Alpha Telecom has enlisted Swedish vendor Ericsson to roll out its mobile network in Mali. As previously reported by TeleGeography’s GlobalComms Database Alpha Telecom, a joint venture between Monaco Telecom and local holding company Planor Afrique, signed the licence agreement on 12 February 2013, making a down-payment of XOF33 billion (USD67.8 million) for the concession.
