French group Sisteer inks MVNO deal with Vivo

4 Jun 2013

Sisteer Group of France has revealed plans to launch a mobile virtual network operator (MVNO) business in Brazil, and to that end has signed a deal with the country’s largest mobile network operator (MNO), Vivo Participacoes, to host its services. According to BNAmericas, which quotes Sisteer CEO Alain Bureau, the newcomer will initially target its new service at a niche market – the evangelical community in Brazil – by early 2014. Traditionally a mobile virtual network enabler (MVNE) hosting MVNOs on its own platforms, Sisteer is now venturing into the MVNO arena itself, having secured a licence in March 2012. Its new service will be branded Fish Fone – a reference to the symbol of the evangelical movement.
