Cable ONE to introduce 60Mbps, 70Mbps speeds; discontinues overage charges

Cable ONE, a subsidiary of The Washington Post Company, has announced that it will introduce service plans with downlink transmission speeds of 60Mbps and 70Mbps on 10 June, claiming that they are the fastest speeds available in the majority of the company’s 42 markets. In addition, Cable ONE has discontinued the use of data plans with overage charges, now applying a 300GB cap for its 50Mbps plan; the new speeds will be accompanied by even higher data allowances.

According to TeleGeography’s GlobalComms Database, Cable ONE claimed 463,726 subscribers at 31 March 2013. The carrier currently provides service in 19 US states, namely Alabama, Arizona, Arkansas, Idaho, Iowa, Kansas, Louisiana, Minnesota, Mississippi, Missouri, Nebraska, New Mexico, North Dakota, Oklahoma, Oregon, Tennessee, Texas, South Dakota and Washington.
