Huawei provides further details regarding Tricom LTE launch

Chinese telecoms vendor Huawei has confirmed that it was recently selected by the Dominican Republic’s Tricom to upgrade its CDMA infrastructure to 4G Long Term Evolution (LTE) technology. Huawei provided Tricom with a SingleRAN CDMA 1x EV-DO/LTE end-to-end solution utilising the 800MHz and 1900MHz bands. As previously reported by TeleGeography’s CommsUpdate, the LTE network covered the capital city Santo Domingo and other major cities from launch, with further network deployment planned for the remainder of 2013.
