LGI in hunt for O2 Ireland, paper says

US-based Liberty Global Inc (LGI) is rumoured to be mounting a bid to take control of Irish mobile network operator O2 Ireland, owned by Telefonica of Spain, the Sunday Independent reports. To that end, the paper claims that Bank of America Merrill Lynch is involved in the process, while Telefonica’s advisors are thought to include Citi and BNP Paribas.
