HKBN’s H1 EBITDA climbs 13.4%

Triple-play fibre network operator Hong Kong Broadband Network (HKBN) has reported that its EBITDA in the first six months of its financial year increased by 13.4% to HKD347 million (USD44.7 million) on revenues which rose by 9.7% to HKD974 million. Net profit for the half-year ended February 2013 increased by approximately 29% to HKD177 million. Broadband subscribers increased by 8.7% year-on-year to 671,000, and fixed voice (VoIP-based) telephony customers grew by 3.9% to 553,000, although IPTV connections showed no net annual growth, standing at 195,000 at the beginning of March 2013.
