Idea rolls out 100G cable

Wireless provider Idea Cellular has upgraded its fibre-optic backbone network, installing what it claims is the nation’s first 100G dense wavelength division multiplexing (DWDM) network, the Economic Times reports. The network, which was installed in conjunction with Chinese vendor Huawei, will improve data services for Idea’s 2G and 3G subscribers, the cellco added.
