Bite group sales up 5% on Latvia growth

Lithuanian telecoms group Bite, which provides mobile services in Latvia as well as its domestic market, has announced it generated revenue and other income of EUR44.1 million (USD57.9 million) in the first quarter of 2013, an increase of 5% from EUR41.9 million in the year-ago period. The company said that adjusted earnings before interest, tax, depreciation and amortisation (EBITDA) totalled EUR12.6 million in Q1 2013, up 13% from EUR11.1 million twelve months earlier. In Lithuania, mobile operator Bite Lietuva reported revenue and other income of EUR30.4 million, compared to EUR32.3 million in the first three months of 2012, while adjusted EBITDA in its domestic market decreased 5% from EUR9.8 million to EUR9.3 million over the same period. On the other hand, Bite Latvia’s EBITDA climbed by EUR2.1 million to EUR2.9 million, as revenue jumped 31% year-on-year to EUR16.0 million in Q1 2013.
