NetCologne posts pre-tax profit of EUR15.8m

Regional broadband provider NetCologne has reported revenues of EUR242 million (USD317 million) for the fiscal year ended 31 December 2012, compared to EUR245.5 million twelve months earlier. The Cologne-based company said it achieved a net profit before tax of EUR15.8 million in 2012, up by EUR2.9 million from EUR12.9 million in 2011. Of the operator’s 381,000 fixed line customers at the end of December 2012, 139,000 were connected to its own fibre-optic infrastructure. NetCologne is owned by the municipality of Cologne through the utilities company GEW Cologne.
