Following on from the USD750 million upgrade and expansion deal signed with Huawei last week, Nigerian mobile operator Globacom has inked a new USD500 million agreement with ZTE, which will allow the company to significantly increase the capacity of its network. Local newspaper THISDAY quotes Globacom’s chief operating officer Mohamed Jameel as saying that the network improvement project forms part of a plan to enhance the experience of millions of its mobile customers. He added that the four-month project will involve the upgrade and overhaul of infrastructure across the country, as well as expansion and densification projects that will enable the network to better cater for its existing and potential subscribers.
