Telecom Italia may float fixed line network as part of spin-off

Telecom Italia (TI) could float its domestic fixed line network on the Italian stock market in order to keep it separate from any possible tie-up with Hong Kong’s Hutchison Whampoa, Reuters reports, citing unconfirmed Italian media reports. Earlier this month Italy’s former monopoly telecoms operator appointed a panel of directors to look at a possible tie-up with Hutch, and also asked its management to look into the feasibility of spinning off the network.
