NCC outlines timeframe for 4G auction applications

Taiwan’s National Communications Commission (NCC) has revealed that it will begin accepting applications for 4G concessions on 1 May 2013, with the submission period subsequently ending on 15 June. According to the Digitimes, following that the regulator has confirmed that it will examine the applicants between 15 June and 15 August with a view to announcing a list of those would-be bidders that have qualified to participate in the sale process. Meanwhile, the report also notes that the NCC will hold conferences between 10 July and 20 July to outline the procedures for the sale itself, while an auction rehearsal is expected to take place on 20 August. The spectrum sale itself will get underway on 26 August.
