Swisscom enables IPTV for out-of-country use

25 Apr 2013

Swisscom has announced that customers using its IPTV service will from 29 April be able to access it even if they are travelling out of the country. From that date subscribers signed up to the operator’s ‘Swisscom TV plus’ package will be able to watch recorded programmes using their smartphones, tablets or laptops while abroad.

In addition to opening access for customers out of the country, Swisscom has also revealed that the iPhones and Android smartphones can now also be used as TV remote controls. Further, it has confirmed that all Swisscom TV customers will be able to watch RTL, RTL II, VOX, SUPER RTL and RTL NITRO in HD from June 2013, a development which it noted will expand the number of HD channels offered by Swisscom TV to 49.
