AT&T Inc has reported consolidated revenues of USD31.36 billion for the three months ended 31 March 2013, down 1.5% year-on-year. Wireless revenues continue to account for the lion’s share of the company’s revenue, increasing 3.4% to USD16.69 billion. Meanwhile, wireless data revenues increased 21% y-o-y to USD5.13 billion. Operating income for January-March slumped 2.6% to USD5.94 billion, while net income for the three month period under review edged up 3.3% to USD3.77 billion.
In operational terms, AT&T Mobility saw its total subscriber base increase 3.2% to 107.25 million in the year to March, of which 70.75 million were post-paid accounts (up 1.9% y-o-y) and 7.10 million were pre-paid subscriptions (down 3.6%). Meanwhile, resellers accounted for 14.70 million subscriptions (+6.0% y-o-y), with ‘connected devices’ rising 10.5% to 14.70 million compared to 1Q12. AT&T’s fixed broadband business saw user figures drop 0.1% to 16.51 million, but U-verse IPTV numbers grew 19.5% to 4.77 million.
