Ecuador’s Superintendencia de Telecomunicaciones (Supertel) has asked the country’s mobile network operators, Claro, Movistar and CNT, to ensure that their coverage is extended to unserved communities in the provinces of Manabi, Imbabura, Carchi and Esmeraldas. The watchdog says that the cellcos should ‘make the necessary arrangements with the relevant government agencies’ to provide services to these areas.
