Chunghwa Telecom looking to increase customer numbers for top-end fibre tariffs

Taiwanese multi-service operator Chunghwa Telecom (CHT) has said it is aiming to boost the number of customers signed up to its 50Mbps/20Mbps downlink/uplink fibre-based broadband connection to 1.44 million by the end of this year, up from the one million subscribers the service currently has. Further, according to the Digitimes the operator is hoping to increase the number of customers taking its 100Mbps fibre option from 10,000 to 300,000 over the same period; of that target CHT expects that between 60% and 70% will opt for a 100Mbps/20Mbps connection, with between 30% and 40% taking either a 100Mbps/40Mbps or 100Mbps/100Mbps tariff.
