T-Mobile USA has provided a ‘preliminary view’ of its subscriber metrics as at 31 March 2013, noting that it business has demonstrated ‘continued positive momentum and the building of a solid foundation for growth’ in the first quarter of this year. T-Mobile has reported a 2% year-on-year increase in its user base, to end March with 33.968 million subscribers. Post-paid users dropped 8% y-o-y to 20.094 million, but pre-paid customers increased 19% to 6.028 million. Additionally, M2M, mobile virtual network operator (MVNO) and wholesale subscriber figures all increased on an annualised basis, reaching 3.290 million (up 22%), 4.556 million (up 21%) and 7.846 million (up 22%) respectively, helping to boost the cellco’s overall subscriber total.
