Orange France says it aims to have one million 4G subscribers by the end of 2013, and an LTE network that covers 30% of the country’s population. Marking a significant step towards those goals, the company has revealed that its LTE network is now available in 15 metropolitan areas comprising 50 municipalities. The cellco plans to cover Paris and its inner suburbs with LTE by the end of the year. In a bid to boost subscriber numbers, Orange is offering customers the opportunity to pay an extra EUR1 (USD1.3) per month to upgrade their 3G plan to an LTE plan. The offer is valid for the remainder of 2013, and from the start of 2014 the upgrade price will rise to EUR10 per month.
