NexTV LatAm daily news reports that DLA, a Latin American digital content aggregator owned by Mexico’s Americal Movil (AM), has announced the official launch of a video-on-demand (VoD) service in Brazil, under the banner Clarovideo. The new VoD service will be offered via Telecom Americas (Claro’s) pay-TV arm from 4 April and will reportedly provide subscribers with ‘unlimited access’ to the carrier’s programming. Commenting on the development, Antonio Barreto, chief executive at DLA said: It is a pleasure for us to present one of the most innovating and advanced products of the market in one of the main and greatest potential markets in Latin America … We are positive that our new product will manage to shake up the OTT [over-the-top] market in Brazil by offering Claro subscribers access to the best VoD content worldwide, in Portuguese, and adapted to Brazilian consumers’ tastes and needs’.
