According to local press reports, Tricom has launched 4G Long Term Evolution (LTE) services in the Dominican Republic, with coverage available in the National District, Santiago metropolitan area and other major cities. Currently, the network supports USB modems and wireless routers acting as mobile Wi-Fi hotspots that support up to ten networked users. Tricom claims that speeds offered over the network are ten times faster than those currently available from the 3G services of its rivals.
