TATT says broadband market grew 16.6%

The Telecommunications Authority of Trinidad and Tobago (TATT) has issued its market update statistics for the end of December 2012. Mobile subscribers increased by 3.1% year-on-year to 1.88 million at 31 December 2012, representing a 142% population penetration (up by 2.6 percentage points year-on-year) according to the regulator’s statistics. Fixed broadband internet customers grew by 16.6% year-on-year to 221,000 (up by 7,000 quarter-on-quarter), which going by TATT’s statistics gave a 52% household penetration, while fixed line subscriptions dropped 1.8% year-on-year to 287,000.
