Lonestar Cell launches service on borrowed time

18 Mar 2013

MTN Liberia, trading under the Lonestar Cell brand, has launched a new service ‘Xtra Time’ which allows its mobile users to ‘borrow’ airtime credit (in case of emergency etc) and then pay it back at a later date via a regular recharge. Commenting on the innovative plan, its CEO Tebogo Mogabi said that it would afford Lonestar Cell pre-paid users with increased convenience, giving them the option of getting airtime to make a very important call even if their airtime is exhausted. A Kenyan-based technology company MODE is partnering with the cellco to launch the service in Liberia.
