Tesco, Telefonica O2 CR to launch MVNO service

The UK-based retail chain Tesco has reportedly inked a deal with Telefonica’s Czech mobile operation to launch a mobile virtual network operator (MVNO) service in the country. Reuters cites a joint statement by the pair as confirming the news, which will see Tesco Mobile using Telefonica O2 CR’s mobile network to offer services through 232 stores in the central European country. The deal builds on an existing agreement between the two companies, which has seen the successful launch of MVNO services by Tesco in the UK; the virtual operator has over three million customers there, they said it the statement.
