15 Mar 2013

Internet service provider (ISP) AccessKenya has reported revenues of KES1.90 billion (USD21.9 million) for the twelve months ended 31 December 2012, up 9% from KES1.74 billion in 2011. The telco also booked a 62% rise in pre-tax profit, which increased from KES131 million to KES212 million in the year under review. The company attributed the growth to ‘internet subscriptions in its corporate stronghold, supported by robust investment in its infrastructure’. CEO Jonathan Somen commented: ‘This is an indication that we remained steadfast in our core business: corporate data and IT solutions… all our key metrics have improved significantly’.
