Cosmote to trial LTE in Bucharest next week

14 Feb 2013

Cosmote Romania has reportedly invited members of the media to a live demonstration of its 4G Long Term Evolution (LTE) network in Bucharest next week. The move signals the cellco’s first concrete move towards initiating an LTE network after paying EUR179.88 million (USD232.95 million) for LTE-suitable spectrum allocations in the 800MHz, 1800MHz and 2600MHz bands in September 2012. Rivals Vodafone and Orange inaugurated commercial LTE services in November and December 2012 respectively.
