A price for Egypt’s fourth mobile network operator licence is expected to be decided on by the second half of this year, Ahram Online reports, citing Amr Badawi, CEO of the National Telecommunications Regulatory Authority (NTRA). With the government having revealed at the end of 2012 that it planned to issue the concession to fixed line incumbent Telecom Egypt (TE), the executive also confirmed that the regulator was still examining the matter of the telco’s stake in one of the country’s existing cellcos, Vodafone Egypt.
