Bharti Airtel interested in Myanmar concession

Bharti Airtel has joined the growing ranks of companies who have expressed an interest in bidding for a telecoms licence in Myanmar. A person with direct knowledge of the matter told The Wall Street Journal: ‘We [Bharti] have sent our expression of interest in acquiring a mobile phone services licence to the Myanmar government’. Other than its home market of India, Bharti also provides services in Bangladesh and Sri Lanka, as well as in more than ten African countries.
