T-Mobile Hungary launches 4G-ready iPads

29 Jan 2013

Magyar Telekom’s wholly owned mobile subsidiary T-Mobile Hungary has launched a range of iPads capable of supporting 4G Long Term Evolution (LTE) technology. 4-Traders.com reports that the cellco is now offering the iPad Wi-Fi + 3G/LTE, iPad mini Wi-Fi + 3G/LTE and iPad 2, via a number of fixed and mobile data plans. The carrier’s portfolio includes LTE network capability with transmission speeds of up to 60Mbps/22Mbps (down/uplink), or DC-HSPA+ support, with a maximum 42Mbps/5.76Mbps connection. Although the iPads cannot be connected to T-Mobile’s LTE network from the outset, the parent company says that this will be possible following a software update soon.
