Une-EPM invests USD2.5m on city-wide 4G deployment

State-backed cellco Une-EPM is investing USD2.5 million on launching 4G Long Term Evolution (LTE) services in the city of Barranquilla, the capital of Atlantico department, RCR Wireless reports without giving its source. Une-EPM is looking to quickly roll out infrastructure to cover the entire city and so far its network covers 68% of Barranquilla. The cellco launched LTE in Bogota and Medellin in June 2012, before extending coverage to Cale and Bucaramanga.
