NTT Communications has announced that it will begin offering businesses a 100Gbps internet service from today. The service is called ‘Super OCN 100 Gigabit Ethernet’ and according to the company’s press release, the high speeds can be achieved without the need to replace existing fibre infrastructure. NTT states that the service is available in areas of Tokyo, Osaka, Nagoya, Yokohama, Sapporo, Sendai, Kyoto, Kobe, Hiroshima and Fukuoka. A flat fee will be charged for speeds of up to 10Gbps, while a usage-based fee will be imposed for speeds above 10Gbps.
