PLDT forecasts 7%-9% growth from ‘digital servicing’ brands in 2013

18 Jan 2013

The Philippines’ dominant telco Philippine Long Distance Telephone Company (PLDT) is forecasting that the popularity of its so-called ‘digital servicing’ brand, which includes ADSL and fibre-optic broadband subscribers, will help drive growth in revenue of between 7% and 9% in fiscal 2013, as its number of subscribers continues to rise quickly. GMA News quotes PLDT vice president Ariel Fermin as saying that the carrier also expects a strong increase in the number of its existing subscribers upgrading their current subscriptions with the company. PLDT’s MyDSL brand has a subscriber base of between 800,000-900,000 while the ultra-high speed fibre-optic service, ‘PLDT Fibr’ has already signed up between 15,000 and 25,000 subscribers, he said.
