Mauritius mobile network operator Emtel, backed by Millicom International Cellular (MIC), has launched a fixed-wireless service over its 3G/HSPA+ network under the name ‘Home and Office Broadband’, Telecompaper claims. Customers wishing to sign up to the new service must pay MUR2,899 (USD98.2) for the Wi-Fi router and desk phone; the router offers support for up to 32 devices over Wi-Fi and comes with four LAN ports. The Home and Office Broadband service, which is open to pre- and post-paid users, costs from MUR799 per month for a 5GB capped bundle, with a 10GB package also available.
