Huawei on track to bag Polkomtel contract

24 Dec 2012

Chinese vendor Huawei has won an early stage of a tender to supply network operator Polkomtel infrastructure, Polish news portal rpkom writes without giving its source. Huawei is competing against Alcatel-Lucent, Adva and ECI Telecom for a contract worth an estimated EUR10 million (USD13.23 million) and has reportedly entered the lowest bid to supply DWDM and IP/MPLS equipment. The report adds that Huawei failed to secure a tender to supply radio access network gear earlier this year, but went on to secure a similar deal with NetWorkS!, the infrastructure management company jointly held by Orange Poland and T-Mobile Poland.
