Bharti and Vodafone to face corruption charges

24 Dec 2012

India’s Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has filed charges against Bharti Airtel and Vodafone India following a probe into alleged corruption relating to the allocation of frequencies in 2001-2003. Reuters cites CBI lawyer A.K. Singh as saying that the accusations include criminal conspiracy, adding that although telecoms ministry officials had been charged, none of the executives from the companies involved would face charges.
