STC and Viva announce 4G roaming

Saudi Telecom Company (STC) and its Kuwaiti subsidiary Viva have signed a 4G Long Term Evolution (LTE) roaming agreement after concluding the necessary tests on their respective networks. The companies say this is the first 4G roaming deal between mobile operators in the Gulf area. STC holds a 26% stake in Viva, which launched in December 2008 and is Kuwait’s third largest cellular operator by subscribers.
