Mobitel upgrades network to DC-HSPA+

Sri Lanka’s second largest cellco by subscribers, Mobitel, says it has upgraded its network to DC-HSPA+ offering speeds of up to 42Mbps. Chinese vendors ZTE and Huawei helped deploy the upgrades. According to TeleGeography’s GlobalComms Database, Mobitel launched its 3G network in December 2007, and since then the company has garnered approximately 650,000 3G subscribers.
