Aircel is set to become the second operator to offer LTE services in India, International Business Times reports, citing the cellco’s regional business chief K Sankara Narayanan. The executive said that the Malaysian-backed company has placed orders for 4G LTE equipment and expects testing and trials to take a minimum of six months. TeleGeography’s GlobalComms Database notes that Bharti Airtel was the first operator to begin offering fourth generation wireless services in India, launching a TD-LTE network in April this year.
