T-Mobile reaches 18 major markets with HSPA+ 1900MHz

T-Mobile USA has announced the expansion of its 1900MHz HSPA+ network to three new markets, Atlanta, Seattle and Minneapolis, while it says it has expanded coverage in other recently added areas including Oakland, San Francisco and the Silicon Valley to include more surrounding cities. The 1900MHz HSPA+ network now reaches 18 major metro areas, following the expansion to a dozen additional metro areas last month, and T-Mobile adds that it is working on upgrades in Boston, Chicago, Los Angeles, New York, Philadelphia, and San Diego, while it expects to cover 100 million people with the enhanced mobile broadband network by the end of this year. The most recent 1900MHz HSPA+ expansion takes in: Atlanta (including the surrounding cities of Roswell, Alpharetta, Marietta, Covington and Conyers); Seattle (including the surrounding areas of Lynwood, Bothell, Mill Creek, Edmonds, Redmond, Kirkland, Woodinville, Bellevue, Issaquah, Sammamish, Kenmore, Mercer Island, North Bend, SeaTac, Burien, Tukwila, Renton and Lake Stevens); Minneapolis (including the nearby cities of St. Paul and St. Cloud); and additional Bay Area cites (including Fairfield, Monterey, Napa, Petaluma, Salinas, Santa Cruz, Santa Rosa and Vallejo).
