Com Hem selects Harmonic for multi-screen support

5 Dec 2012

Com Hem, Sweden’s largest cable TV operator, has selected Harmonic’s NSG 9000 HectoQAM solution to increase the speed of its data services and add new multi-screen services based on TiVo technology. Com Hem says it will be able to cost-effectively deliver high-quality video on demand (VOD) content, as well as high speed data services, to approximately 1.8 million households from a single, unified edgeQAM platform. Jens Persson, R&D manager for Com Hem said: ‘The capability to support data, VOD, and multiscreen services is key, as today’s subscribers expect a high-quality multimedia experience on any connected device.’
