Indonesian CDMA wireless service provider Telekom PT SmartFren (Smartfren) has struck a partnership agreement with online video site Viki as it looks to bring advanced value added services (VAS) to its 9.4 million-strong subscriber base. News site E27 notes that Smartfren also announced a tie-up with another company, VMS, to offer video messaging services to its customers. The CDMA operator has selected Viki for its wide range of video-type content, which includes animations, films, TV programmes and video clips. The portal also boasts a strong service where it comes to subtitles: the service claims to be able to provide translations in more than 150 languages. Smartfren is including the Viki software as a pre-installed app with new Android-based tablets and smartphones, benefiting customers on its 3.1Mbps data plans.
