Turk Telekom Mobile launched on BASE network, replacing Ay Yildiz

28 Nov 2012

Turk Telekom and KPN Group Belgium have signed an agreement to launch a new mobile virtual network operator (MVNO) brand, Turk Telekom Mobile. Ay Yildiz, the existing brand developed by KPN’s Belgian mobile subsidiary BASE and targeting the Turkish community in Belgium, will change into Turk Telekom Mobile. A joint press release says that the move is ‘more than a simple rebranding’, as Turk Telekom Mobile will offer brand new products covering the entire communication needs of the Belgian Turks, while users will be charged exactly the same to call numbers in Belgium or Turkey. The release adds that ‘customers will further benefit from the strength of the largest integrated Turkish telecom provider’ Turk Telekom and its mobile subsidiary Avea’s network.
