Vodafone blocks Aircel SMS

23 Nov 2012

UK-backed cellco Vodafone India has ceased SMS interconnection with Aircel in certain areas over non-payment of termination fees, ZD Net reports. Vodafone is the second company to terminate its interconnection agreement with Aircel in recent months, after Bharti Airtel stopped all SMS connection with the company, also due to unpaid fees. Whilst Bharti’s ban was nationwide, however, Vodafone’s is reportedly limited to Chennai, New Delhi and Karnataka.
