Filipino regulator to publish 3G licence terms, paper says

20 Nov 2012

The National Telecommunications Commission (NTC) of the Philippines is poised to publish the terms of reference for the planned re-auction a 10MHz block of 3G frequencies relinquished by Connectivity Unlimited Resource Enterprises (CURE), a subsidiary of Philippine Long Distance Telephone Company (PLDT), as part of the approval conditions for the latter’s acquisition of Digitel last year. The BusinessMirror newspaper quotes NTC commissioner Gamaliel Cordoba as saying that with the terms and conditions all but finalised, the agency is set to release the full details for the tender ‘maybe on the first week of December’. The watchdog has yet to set a floor price for the spectrum.
