Q3 sales up 2.3% at Djezzy as customer base continues to grow

Orascom Telecom has reported a 2.3% year-on-year increase in third-quarter revenues at its Algerian mobile unit Djezzy to DZD36.2 million (USD449 million) on the back of continued growth in subscriber numbers. Djezzy’s customer base climbed 8.6% over the twelve months to end-September 2012 to reach 17.694 million, giving it 56% of the overall Algerian mobile market. Earnings before interest, tax, depreciation and amortisation (EBITDA) were up 1.4% at DZD21.2 billion.
