Antares, SkyLink fall out over frequency overlap

15 Nov 2012

According to unconfirmed local press reports, little-known Russian company Antares Telecom has accused SkyLink, a mobile operator owned by state-backed Rostelecom, of not providing adequate safeguards against frequency overlap in the 1800MHz band. As things stand, both parties claim that the State Radio Frequency Commission (SRFC) has offered them solutions to the issue, although it now appears that the regulator has acted at crossed purposes and failed to resolve the issue satisfactorily.
